Become a Foster or Adoptive Parent

Every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and ultimately thrive in a loving home environment.  Ideally, children are raised by their birth families, but sometimes the birth family is not in the best interests of the child. Whether a child needs a temporary foster family or a permanent adoptive home, Berkshire Children and Families works to find a family that can promote a child’s full potential in a stable, supportive and nurturing environment.

Our Healing Homes Foster Care program finds temporary families for children. Our Adoption Services matches permanent families with children who are in the care of the state, most often in foster care programs.

In each case, Berkshire Children & Families provides training, planning and case management and ongoing support services for families and children in both foster and adoptive families.

Berkshire Children and Families is a partner with The Treehouse Foundation, a multi-generational community where seniors are vital to the support system that enables parents to succeed and the children to thrive.  The Treehouse Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to restore and strengthen the health and well-being of children and youth placed in foster care. Our Community model aims to move children out of the public foster care system and into permanent, loving families. Learn more about Treehouse.
