On the perfect summer evening of July 31st, over 400 hundred supporters and families attended Berkshire Children and Families Kids 4 Harmony Summer Gala Concert at Berkshire Community College.  Guests were treated to tasty delights prepared especially for the event by Berkshire Community College’s Food Services and Kelly’s Package Store.  Bella Flora provided seasonal flower arrangements, and Chocolate Springs sponsored a small post-concert reception.

Thirty-three students took the stage following a moving video tribute to Carolyn Mower Burns, former President and CEO of BCF, who passed away in November 2016.  The Elayne P. Bernstein Ensemble from the Pittsfield program and & Advanced Violin Ensemble from North Adams played three pieces including an original composition from one of the students.  Renowned pianist, Emanuel Ax, took the stage to play another student composed pieced followed by the Elayne P. Bernstein Octet joining him to play the Schumann Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44.  All were received with a rousing stand of ovation at the conclusion.
